Army Life: Reenlisting Indef

AWC > Military Life > Army Life:  Reenlisting Indef

Wow.  It's that time.  The time my husband says I will stay with you for 20 or more to the U.S. Army.  He's already been in over 14 years. To think he's been with the Army longer than me, his wife.

It feels like he has climbed the slide, and he's almost to the top.  This is a slide you can only do once.  So it's exciting and sad all at one time.  I'm so proud of the dedication my husband has shown to his children, family, fellow Soldiers, and country.

I wanted to share his last reenlistment with all of you.

Fabulous by 40 - Workout at Casablanca Neighborhood Center

AWC > Fitness/Weightloss > Fabulous by 40 > Workout at Casablanca Neighborhood Center

Today is Day 1 of Fabulous by 40. That's right I'll be 40 this December. Now that we are taking a break from TTC, I can focus on my physical health.  I know you'd think that I should be doing that while TTCin', but you aren't allowed to do anything that would make your ponytail bounce.  It meant no working out.

I'm going to share my journey and the gyms I visit.  What weight am I starting at?  I don't know. Probably 205...sz18  What weight/size do I want to be?  It's not my focus.  I'll let ya know if my jean size change ok?  I want to be active and not tire out quickly.  My goal is to play a game of volleyball with my brother.  Hahaha I'm sure he'll get a kick out of that goal.

We Are Not Pawns

I don't know about you, but  I feel like the Military community has been a pawn in the political mess.  For years, yes YEARS, our community has been told our Servicemembers may not get paid, and now our children's education is being threatened.  SERIOUSLY?

Below is video, by WRAL, of how the uncertainty and sequestration is impacting an Army Wife at Fort Bragg.  I know she doesn't speak for all, but she's a mom.  The fact she has to wonder like this is not right.

Meadow Lights - A Family Tradition

AWC > Travel & Military Discounts > Meadow Lights - A Family Tradition

We've lived in Fayetteville since June 2008.  I wish we would have known about, "Meadow Lights" a long time ago.  I'm glad we did finally find it and were able to add this to our holiday traditions. Below is a video.  To be honest, it really doesn't do it justice.  You have to see it first hand and see the look on your child's face.  Right from the moment you drive up all you hear them saying is, "Look at that".  It continues up until the moment you leave.  I want to personally thank Mr. Roy D. Johnson and his family for providing such an amazing moment to me and my family.

Date Night- December 7, 2012

It's Friday night.  In our household it's date night.  Now that I'm working we have a little more money, but less time together.  It's more important than ever to set aside a night just for us.

Tuesday, July 24th,  we went to the Orientation for the Infertility Program at Womack.  Phil & I arrived early and sat upfront.  I was surprised how many couples were there.  I definately do not feel alone.

To Bee or not to Bee

I've lived in Fayetteville area since 2008.  My allergies have been horrendous ever since I've moved here.  I've heard mention that local honey can cure what ails me.

Yesterday I went to 'Sun Asian Market'.  Besides picking up some goodies to make Sushi, (Salmon, Sushi Rice, Sushi Seasoning & Sesame Seeds) I found local honey!

Local Fayetteville NC Honey, Local Honey I found at Sun Market in Fayetteville http://foursquare.com/v/sun-asian-super-market/4c6e924110faa1436f05f168

I purchased it for $10.  The whole family had some with a biscuit this morning.  It was DELICIOUS!  I'll let ya know if Honey curing my allergies is to be or not to be at a later date.

Have you tried honey to ease your allergy woes?  If so, did honey work for you?  Know of any great places near Army Posts that provide local honey?  Comment Below!

Father/Daughter Dance & Jommy/Son Date Night

June 22, 2012, was the Father Daughter Ball at the  Fort Bragg Club.  It was an amazing event.  I only know this because my 10 year-old daughter came home and told me all about it.  She raved about the punch fountain and the ice cream cones.  The highlight of her night was dancing with her daddy.  I'm thrilled that the MWR puts on these events.  A perfect night for a princess and her dad!
