How To Exercise Safely During Pregnancy

AWC > Fitness & Weightloss > How To Exercise Safely During Pregnancy

I'm so excited to be pregnant with our third baby.  I'm currently in the beginning of the second trimester and feeling a lot more like myself compared to the first trimester.  Keeping fit and strong during pregnancy is so important.  There are numerous benefits of exercising during pregnancy, among them are:
  • less discomfort
  • better sleep
  • being better prepared for labor
  • bouncing back quicker after delivery
And a new study shows that women who are physically active during pregnancy may give birth to babies with more advanced brains.  That's pretty awesome, right?

Most women with normal pregnancies can exercise with no problems.  So before you start working out with me or any other fitness program get permission from your obstetrician.  No matter how many babies you've already had and no matter how fit you already are each pregnancy is unique with it's own potential limitations so you still need to seek your doctor's permission.

I could list the guidelines here, but the American College of Sports Medicine has already done that for me.  So please click link below to read important guidelines for exercise during pregnancy.  American College of Sports Medicine Prenatal Exercise Guidelines

Here is a fun preview of the Pre-Natal Cardio & Tone class I offer at my online fitness studio.  I hope you enjoy the workout and continue to stay fit throughout your entire pregnancy.
