AWC > Pregnancy >  AFT Screen Results

At our latest midwife appointment the midwife and I spoke about all my "issues" (PCOS, MTHFR, gestational diabetes, a past pregnancy testing positive for Trisomy 16).  She asked if I would like to have a blood test done called the AFP Tetra Screen.

Pregnancy Vlog Week 7 - Heart Beat / Burping / Midwives / Belly Shot

AWC > Pregnancy >  Pregnancy Vlog Week 7 - Heart Beat / Burping / Midwives / Belly Shot

With past pregnancies, I've always felt strange saying the words "I'm pregnant".  It just never felt right and would scare me.  I almost felt like I would jinx myself if things went wrong before a scan; yes, I'm superstitious.  After our first ultrasound, I have had no problems saying it... I'M PREGNANT!  :-)

It's an amazing feeling to officially make my first pregnancy vlog about my 7th week of pregnancy.  In this vlog I also explain why I do not plan to do belly shots.

Annnnnnd We Have a Beat!!

Our frijolito (little bean)

As I have mentioned in the past, we have never been to a 6 week 5 day ultrasound and seen a heartbeat.  With my first BFP I began to bleed around 5 weeks resulting in an emergency scan showing that I had an abnormal sac with blood clots in it and a normal sac with "evidence of a pregnancy", but no beat.

One thing I have learned while TTCing is that the two week wait (TWW) can make a person go crazy!  I often am asked what I do to help with the anxiety of that time.  During the week of Spring Break, I decided to document one of my favorite hobbies during this time….building furniture!!!

Introducing Mickey

AWC > Introduction  > Mickey > Introducing Mickey

Hello everyone! I am super excited I was asked to contribute to the Army Wives Club on my Trying to Conceive journey!!

Before I delve into my TTC history, let me tell you a little about myself. My name is Mickey.  I am originally from Fort Worth, Texas. I am a Music Educator and Army Wife.  My husband and I were high school sweethearts and have been married for 12 years in May 2013.  My DH is 31 and I will be 32 in a few months.

We have been through a few PCS’ both accompanied and unaccompanied: Ft Sill, OK(accompanied), Ft. Bliss (unaccompanied), Ft. Carson (unaccompanied), Hunter Army Airfield (accompanied), and Ft. Lee (accompanied). DH is stationed at Ft. Lee, VA.  I am an avid music nerd and am currently in the process of getting my teaching certification transferred over to Virginia from Georgia.  In the meantime, I am substitute teaching in a nearby county to try to get some networking in and to get out of the house.
