One of the things I love most about being an Army Wife is the sense of community. We are a family that rallies around each other. Alysa needs a heart transplant. Yes she has insurance, but there's so much more that insurance doesn't cover. Alyssa and her family need our support. Whether it's money or a kind word, both have an impact. Stop over to her Facebook page, Hope for Alysa, and share it with your friends and family. Shout it from the rooftops if you must. I'll continue to do the same here. Let's help Alysa and her family.
Below is the most recent status update on her Facebook page. I dare you not to be moved by her story and her face.

By Hope for Alysa
Tuesday, 22 January, is the beginning of the second 800+ mile trip to Lucile Packard Hospital for Alysa and her family. She has at least two full days of appointments on Thursday and Friday. For a child to go through a serious illness, and her family to be at her side takes time, resources, and more funds than they can save up for in a short time. Alysa's sisters have the chance to talk to Child Life Specialists, and see for themselves where their sister will have a heart transplant when that time comes. Their parents have worked hard to hold their family together in spite of the stress and challenges they face. For a military family with special needs, they are struggling and hoping that they can continue to hold strong. With your help, prayers, and hope, Alysa's family can rest assured that some of their most basic needs are covered. Thank you for your continued support.
